Jill Amadio – Author, Ghostwriter, Journalist and Collaborator

I am from St. Ives, Cornwall. I worked for a London newspaper, and was a reporter for the Bangkok Post, Thailand, the Spanish-American Courier,Madrid, Spain, and Gannett Newspapers, New York. I freelanced for the Washington Times, Los Angeles Daily News, and Westport News. I was an investigative reporter for the Connecticut Sunday Herald.

 

My articles have appeared in Air Classics, Conde Nast, Newsweek, the Los Angeles Times, and Asian Symphony Magazine. As a freelance auto racing reporter for National Speed Sports News and the White Plains Reporter-Dispatch I covered the Indianapolis 500, NASCAR, Sprint car racing, Funny cars, LeMans, and the Indy Car circuit.  I later joined the Skoal Bandit Racing Team, formerly owned by Paul Newman,  Burt Reynolds and Hal Needham, as public relations director, before moving to Balboa Island, Newport Beach, California.

 

My biography of a World War II pilot, “Gunther Rall: Fighter Ace and NATO General,” was a bestseller and is an eBook on amazon and Smashwords. I have ghostwritten 14 memoirs and other books for clients including a true crime and a thriller. I co-authored the Rudy Vallee memoir, “My Vagabond Lover.”

 

I am a panelist at several writers conferences, and a member of Sisters In Crime, Mystery Writers of America, Crime Writers Association, the Authors Guild, Biographers International Association, and the Cornish-American Heritage Society.
